How to Fix Spinning Pivots | Balisong Maintenance TIps

We’ve all been through that problem when you are tuning your trainer, or taking out the screws, and the pivots on the other side just keep spinning. Don't worry, we have two quick and simple fixes for spinning pivots. In this video, Yuki teaches us how to combat spinning pivots.

For this maintenance you will need:

  • T10 Torx Driver
  • Eraser or Thick Rubber Band

Step One - Identify which squeezing method you will need to use:

For our metal balisongs, we recommend squeezing the handles in closed position. This includes our Nautilus, Squidtrainer V3, Triton, Mako, and Kraken.

For our plastic balisongs, we recommend squeezing the handles in open position. This includes our Squiddy, Squiddy-G, and Squiddy-C.

Step Two:

For the purpose of this tutorial, Yuki will be demonstrating using a Triton (metal trainer). Fixing a spinning pivot is very simple. All you need to do is squeeze the handles very tightly together in closed position while unscrewing the screw. This method should work for most people.

Step Three:

If the previous step did not work for you, grab a rubber product like an eraser or a thick rubber band. Next, use the same squeezing method from earlier, and apply force with the rubber band on the side of the pivot while unscrewing.

You may need a friend to help you with this.

These methods should fix your spinning pivot problem. If they do not, please send us an email via our contact page and we will help you out as soon as possible.
